The Knott overrun brake KFL14-A is a mechanical overrun device for braked trailers with a maximum authorised mass of 1400 kg. This overrun brake is used in the trailer braking system where the movement from the drawbar is transferred to the trailer wheel brakes during braking. The version is supplied with jockey wheel bracket and is used in trailers equipped with Knott overrun brakes.

Overrun brake in trailer braking system

When the trailer is pushed forward towards the towing vehicle during braking, the overrun brake is activated and the braking force is transferred through the mechanism to the trailer wheel brakes. In a trailer braking system the overrun device works together with brake rods and wheel brakes to create controlled braking.
