Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer
The brake shoes are mounted in the trailer's drum brake where they are pressed against the inner surface of the brake drum when the brake system is activated. The friction between the brake lining and the brake drum creates braking force which reduces the wheel's rotation. During service the brake shoes and springs should be inspected regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure the brake system functions correctly.
