How to choose
Match the pin count at both ends. A cable that is 7 pin at one end and 13 pin at the other will only carry the functions the 7 pin side supplies. Check the length as well, since the cable has to reach with the trailer at full lock without being pulled tight.
Cable sets
A cable set includes the socket and the socket holder alongside the cable, which is the simpler option when the whole connection is being renewed rather than just the cable.
Coiled cables
The cable is one part of the connection. Check trailer plugs, trailer sockets and bayonet connectors at the same time. A light tester shows whether a fault sits in the cable or further along the trailer.
