Gas springs on a handbrake lever
A gas spring loses force over its life, which makes it a wear part rather than a fixture. The extended centre-to-centre length is what decides whether a replacement fits: measure between the mounting centres with the spring fully extended and compare with 210 mm. Never open, cut or heat a gas spring — it is under pressure even off the trailer.
