Working with a load binder
A load binder takes up the slack in a securing arrangement and holds it under tension, which means the binder, its attachment points and everything between them carry the same load and have to be judged as one. Look the binder over before use and take it out of service if anything is bent, cracked or worn rather than straightening it. The maximum load is a ceiling, not a target: the weakest part of the arrangement decides what may be secured.
