Reaming is the process of fine-tuning a pre-drilled hole to achieve the exact diameter and a smooth surface. It is done using a special tool that removes a thin layer of material from the inside of the hole. This may be necessary if the bushing is too tight or if the hole is not perfectly round or accurate due to previous wear.
