Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer

The brake shoes are part of the trailer’s drum brake system and are pressed outward against the brake drum during braking. When the linings contact the inside of the drum, the friction created slows the rotation of the wheel. During service, check that the brake shoes and springs are in good condition and replace worn components as needed.
