Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer

The brake shoes are installed in the trailer’s drum brake where they are pressed against the inside of the brake drum when the brake system is activated. The friction between the brake lining and the brake drum creates braking force which reduces the wheel’s rotation. During service the brake shoes and springs should be inspected carefully and worn components replaced to ensure the brake system functions correctly.
