The Knott/Avonride overrun brake KFG35-D in version GF is a mechanical overrun device for braked trailers with a maximum authorised mass of 3500 kg. This overrun brake is used in the trailer braking system and transfers the movement from the drawbar to the wheel brakes during braking.

Overrun brake in trailer braking system

When the trailer moves forward towards the towing vehicle during braking, the overrun brake is activated and the force is transferred through the brake mechanism to the trailer’s wheel brakes. During service, the components of the braking system should be checked regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure that the trailer brake functions correctly.
