The Knott overrun brake KRV30-B in version GF is a mechanical overrun device for braked trailers with a maximum authorised mass of 3000 kg. This overrun brake is used in the trailer braking system where the movement from the drawbar is transferred to the trailer wheel brakes during braking and is found in trailer braking systems from Knott.

Overrun brake in trailer braking system

When the trailer is pushed forward towards the towing vehicle during braking, the overrun brake is activated and the braking force is transferred through the brake mechanism to the trailer wheel brakes. In a trailer braking system the overrun device works together with brake rods and wheel brakes to create controlled braking. During service, the components of the braking system should be checked regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure that the trailer brake functions correctly.
