Brake lining set 230×40 BPW for trailer

Brake lining set 230×40 for brake systems from BPW on braked trailers. The set contains 4 brake linings and 40 lining rivets and is used when refurbishing brake shoes where worn brake linings are replaced. The brake linings form the friction material in the drum brake and are riveted to the brake shoe to restore braking performance against the brake drum. Always check brake type and dimension to ensure correct fit.

Brake lining on brake shoe in drum brake

The brake lining is the friction material mounted on the brake shoe in a drum brake. When the brake system is activated the brake shoe is pressed against the inside of the brake drum and the friction between the brake lining and drum creates the braking effect that reduces the wheel’s rotation. When refurbishing brake shoes worn brake linings should be replaced and new lining rivets installed correctly to ensure the brake system functions as intended.
