Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer

The brake shoes are mounted in the trailer’s drum brake where they are pressed against the inside of the brake drum when the braking system is activated. The friction between the brake lining and the brake drum creates the braking effect that reduces the rotation of the wheel. During service the brake shoes and springs should be inspected regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure the braking system functions correctly.
