Platform latches on a trailer

A latch on a trailer body takes load and vibration every time the trailer is used, which is why it is often the first part to show wear. A latch that no longer closes tightly lets the section it holds move, and that movement wears both halves of the joint. Check that it closes fully and that its fixings are tight, and replace the latch rather than living with slack in the closing action. Compare the length and width against the part you are replacing before ordering.
