The jockey wheel carries the drawbar when the trailer is uncoupled and makes it possible to move the trailer by hand. It takes a hard life on uneven ground and on gravel. Fast delivery from our own warehouse in Sweden.
Parts of a jockey wheel
The jockey wheel itself sits in a clamp bolted to the drawbar, and is raised and lowered by a crank. The wheel at the bottom can be replaced on its own without changing the whole jockey wheel. Support legs do the same job at the rear corners, and spindles, mounting kits and support plates cover the rest.
Tube diameter
The clamp is sized by the tube diameter of the jockey wheel. 48 mm and 60 mm are the two common sizes here, on 26 and 24 of the products. Measure the tube on the existing wheel rather than guessing from the trailer make.
Load and height
The static load is what the wheel has to hold when the trailer is uncoupled and loaded at the front. Check the trailer documentation for the nose weight. The height matters as well, since the wheel has to lift the drawbar clear of the tow ball and then retract far enough to clear the road.
