End fittings on a brake wire
The fittings at the ends of the brake wire sit exposed to weather and road dirt, so check them for corrosion, damaged threads and play whenever the brakes are adjusted. Fit the same part on both wheels of an axle so the two sides behave alike, and make sure the thread is clean and runs freely before you set the brake.
