Working with rated lifting components
The maximum load is a limit, not a target, and in a lifting assembly the lowest rated component decides what the whole arrangement may carry. Look each part over for deformation, cracks, wear and corrosion before use, and take anything overloaded or damaged out of service instead of repairing it. Keep the marking legible — a part that cannot be identified cannot be shown to be fit for use.
