The Knott overrun brake KF20-A in version GF is a mechanical overrun device for braked trailers with a maximum authorised mass of 2000 kg. This Knott overrun brake is used in the trailer braking system and transfers the movement from the drawbar to the wheel brakes during braking.

Overrun brake in trailer braking system

During braking the trailer is pushed forward against the towing vehicle which activates the overrun brake. The force is then transferred through the brake mechanism to the trailer’s wheel brakes and creates braking action. During service, the components of the braking system should be checked regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure that the trailer brake functions correctly.
