Overrun brake Knott KRV30-B 3000 kg with jockey wheel bracket for trailer

The Knott overrun brake KRV30-B is a mechanical overrun device for braked trailers with a maximum authorised mass of 3000 kg. This overrun brake is used in the trailer braking system where the movement from the drawbar is transferred to the trailer wheel brakes during braking. The version is equipped with a jockey wheel bracket and is found in trailers where square drawbars from Knott are used.

Overrun brake in trailer braking system

When the trailer is pushed forward towards the towing vehicle during braking, the overrun brake is activated and the braking force is transferred through the mechanism to the trailer wheel brakes. In a trailer braking system the overrun device works together with brake rods and wheel brakes to create controlled braking. During service, the components of the braking system should be checked regularly and worn parts replaced to ensure that the trailer brake functions correctly.
