Brake cables on a trailer
The cable carries the pull from the overrun coupling out to the wheel brake, so both the total length and the bolt spacing on the axle have to match: a cable of the wrong length cannot be made up for at the adjuster. Measure the centre distance between the fastening bolts on your own axle before ordering. A cable that is kinked, stiff in its run or has broken strands is replaced rather than adjusted around.
