Carabiner DIN 5299-C 9x90 mm stainless steel for trailer

Stainless steel carabiner in size 9x90 mm, made to DIN 5299-C, with a maximum load of 126 kg. The length is 90 mm and the hooks are supplied in a pack of two. The next size down is 8x80 mm at 113 kg and the next up is 10x100 mm at 181 kg, so you can step the hook to the load rather than the other way round.

Working with a snap hook

A carabiner of this type is closed by a sprung gate, so a rope, chain or net can be hooked on and taken off again without tools. Keep the pull along the length of the hook rather than sideways against the gate, and stay inside the stated maximum load. Before you rely on it, check that the gate closes the whole way and that the spring brings it back on its own.
