Sling hooks with an eye
A sling hook is shaped so the load is taken in the seat of the hook rather than out towards the tip. The eye end is a closed ring that the connection is made through. Compare the size designation and the maximum load with the rest of the assembly before use, and take the hook out of service if it is deformed, cracked, notched or worn, or if the throat has opened up.
