Choosing a length and reading the daN figures

LC 200 daN is the rated lashing capacity and the figure to plan with; the breaking strength of 400 daN is a test value and not a working load. Pick a length that lets the strap run in a straight line to the anchor point without a long tail left flapping, since a strap tied off around itself to take up slack does not hold as it should. Keep the webbing clear of sharp edges and stop using a strap once it is cut or the stitching has pulled.
