Master links on a chain
A master link is the part that other components are gathered into, so the arrangement is connected at one point instead of at several. Everything gathered there passes its load through it, which is why the size designation and the maximum load have to suit the rest of the assembly. Inspect it where it bears against the parts it holds: replace it if it is deformed, notched, cracked or worn, and keep within the stated maximum load of 2360 kg.
