Using a tow chain
A chain of this kind is loaded along its length, in a straight pull between two points. Do not shorten it by knotting it or by hooking it back into itself, and avoid running it over an edge that loads the links sideways. Look along the whole length before use rather than only at the ends: replace the chain if links are stretched, notched, cracked or worn thin, and keep within the stated maximum load of 3150 kg.
