Covering the drawbar between trips
The overrun brake is a mechanism out in the open at the front of the trailer, and whatever lands on it while the trailer stands, from grit and road salt to rain, works its way into the moving parts. A cover keeps most of that off, which matters most for trailers that stand still for long stretches. Let the coupling and the cover dry before you put it on so moisture is not shut in, and take the cover off before hitching up rather than working around it.
