Webbing sling 4 m, 2000 kg

Webbing sling with a length of 4000 mm and a maximum load of 2000 kg, marked TUV, CE and GS. Original number 013000620. It is the shortest of the three lengths in this range — the longer ones are 6 m (article 6510081) and 8 m (article 6510082), both with the same 2000 kg maximum load.

Checking a webbing sling

Webbing takes damage from cuts, abrasion and heat rather than wearing down evenly, so a sling can look serviceable without being so. Go over the full length and the stitching before every use, protect the webbing where it runs over a sharp corner, and keep it out of grit that grinds into the weave. Cuts, chafed edges, melted fibres or a label that can no longer be read mean the sling is taken out of service. The maximum load applies to the sling alone — the weakest part of the arrangement sets the real limit.
