How to choose an end fitting
Match the thread on the spring, which is given in every product name here as M5, M6, M8 or M10. Then check the length and, on ball fittings, the ball diameter. A fitting that threads on but sits at the wrong length changes where the spring pushes.
Types
A hinge eye pivots on a bolt. A ball socket clips onto a ball stud and allows movement in more than one plane. A fork head takes a clevis pin. Angled ball joints are used where a straight fitting would not clear the frame.
