A hub cap and a hub cover are essentially the same thing — a protective cap that sits over the hub of the wheel. The hub cap does have an important job beyond protection, though: it helps centre the wheel on the brake drum when you fit it. Our hub caps come in different sizes and fit most trailer models.

What wheel size fits my trailer?

You will usually find the wheel size on the sidewall of the tyre or in the vehicle documents. Common sizes for trailer wheels are 13", 14" and 15". It is important to match both the rim diameter and the bolt pattern. We supply wheels in all standard trailer sizes.

To change a wheel, first loosen the wheel bolts slightly while the wheel is still on the ground. Then raise the trailer with a jack, unscrew the bolts completely and take the wheel off. Fit the new wheel and tighten the bolts crosswise, in a star pattern, so the load is spread evenly.

What does the bolt pattern on a trailer wheel mean?

How often should trailer tyres be replaced?
