Brake shoes in drum brake on trailer
The brake shoes are mounted in the trailer's drum brake where they are pressed against the inside of the brake drum when the braking system is activated. The contact between brake lining and drum creates friction that slows the wheel's rotation. During service the brake shoes and springs should be checked carefully and worn components replaced to ensure the braking system functions correctly.
